"A Frightmare Before Christmas" is offering a creepy new twist on the holiday at Fright Haven in Stratford. The business put itself on the map this fall by offering the largest indoor Halloween Haunted House across the state.

The "Frightmare" event is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 16, and Saturday, Dec. 17, and features several new experiences and attractions in the haunted house, which will be decked out for the holiday season.

The scares begin with "Dead End Manor: No Home for the Holidays," a "horrific" look into one family's not-so picture perfect Christmas Eve, Fright Haven said, adding that ornaments will be smashed, stockings will be torn and blood will run from the chimney.

Next, The Factory will provide visitors with a tour through Santa’s workshop, which is home to overworked elves who have lost their minds. “Will all visitors to the shop survive long enough to make it out?” Fright Haven asked.

The haunted holiday house is open from 7 to 10 p.m. each night. Organizers said the haunted house is better suited to those over age 13.

Tickets in advance of the event are $30 each and can be purchased here. Those who use the code word “CLAWS” at the time of checkout will save $5 off each ticket.

Fright Haven is located at 411 Barnum Ave. Cutoff.
