EDGEWATER, N.J. -- Fathom Events will mark the 25th anniversary of the movie "Home Alone" with special screenings at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edgewater Multiplex Cinemas in Edgewater.

When "Home Alone" debuted in theaters 25 years ago, audiences flocked to the film, making it No. 1 at the box office for four months. It still is the highest-grossing live-action comedy of all time, spawning a highly successful franchise with four sequels and three video games.

The movie stars Catherine O’Hara, John Heard, John Candy, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern and Macaulay Culkin in the role that made him a household name.
