Coming out of political retirement for town supervisor is former Ossining Village Mayor John Perillo. Perillo has 35 years of public service, including that of an elected Village Trustee and an elected member of the Ossining School Board.
“Having owned a successful business for 46 years, I am proud and honored to give Ossining and Briarcliff voters a choice to participate in the process of our Republic and cast their ballots for real leadership,” said Perillo.
Aaron Spring, who is running for town councilman, is a newcomer to politics but experienced in community service. Spring was born and raised in Briarcliff Manor, New York, and attended Ossining schools. He says he will try to bridge the gap between young adults and their parents.
“I look forward to the high profile and vigorous campaign ahead. As a young professional, I will fully devote my time as an involved member of the Town Board,” said Spring.
Completing the ticket is Michael Milner, also running for town councilman, and a retired admiral with nearly 40 years of military and federal public service, leading national initiatives and programs. Milner has a health science doctoral degree and has held top leadership positions in many local, regional and national professional and civic organizations. He is a consultant for the Montrose and Bronx VA hospitals where he performs disability medical claims examinations for veterans. He and his wife, who was raised in Ossining, are strong supporters of town businesses. Milner looks forward to bringing his talents in listening, consensus building and result-oriented style of leadership to the Town.
“I am anxious to get started and look forward to my future service on the Town Council. The current reassessment process is capricious and arbitrary and concerns me as a homeowner. I believe our taxes are high enough and we have to find ways to hold the line through fiscal responsibility and improved accountability. I stand ready to be accountable to all our townspeople for every dollar they send to the Town,” said Milner.
