"This agreement reflects the genuine goodwill that both sides brought to the table," Ossining Mayor Victoria Gearity said.

Under the terms of the agreement, the officers will receive "significant" salary increases, but will also be tripling contributions to their health insurance premiums.

"Our department does an outstanding job of serving Ossining," Gearity said.  Everyday, they are in our schools and our neighborhoods fostering the relationships that are the hallmark of their commitment to community policing.

Last year, the Ossining Police Department began covering the unincorporated Town of Ossining.

"We are gratified to now have a long-term contract that reflects our appreciation for the service of the Ossining Police Department, as well as our need to be fiscally responsible for the benefit of the whole community," Gearity said.
