Date For Gun Buyback Initiative Announced In Peekskill

Peekskill Police Department is sponsored a "gun buyback" initiative aimed at collecting unused weapons that might end up in the hands of children or criminals.

The Gun Buyback Day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the United Methodist Church, 1040 Main St. in Peekskill.

In April, members of the Peekskill Police Department and River Outpost Brewing Company's Head Brewer Justin Sturges brewed a signature specialty brew called "Peaceskill IPA" to raise funds for the Gun Buyback Initiative.

The popular Peaceskill IPA brew, Peaceskill Glasses and Peaceskill T-shirts can still be purchased at the River Outpost Brewery in the Factoria at Charles Point Complex, 5 John Walsh Blvd. in Peekskill.
