Funeral services have been scheduled for the 66-year-old former Ossining firefighter who died of cancer last week
Stephen Bingell of Ossining died on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Phelps Memorial Hospital.
Bingell was born in Ossining on Aug. 14, 1951, and was the son of the late Alfred and Doris (Johnson) Bingell. A graduate of Ossining High School, he was a former painter, a retired former truck driver with the NYS Department of Transportation, and a retired UPS driver in Elmsford.
For almost 50 years Bingell served as a volunteer firefighter with the Ossining Fire Department, Holla Hose Co., where he was a former chief driver and ex-captain.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Derivan); daughters Sharon and Jaclyn; two stepchildren, Peter Calchera and Amy Roca; sister Kathy Huey; and six grandchildren: Stephanie, Paul, Alana, Jamielynn, Matthew, and Lila. He was predeceased by his son Stephen Bingell, Jr.
Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., with religious and Ossining Fire Department services at Dorsey Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Interment private.
