OSSINING, N.Y. – Lucrecia (Lucy) Aviles, a 40-year resident of Ossining, died Sunday, Sept. 6.
Born in Puerto Rico in 1933, she lived there until she turned 25, then came to New York.
She married Victor M. Aviles in 1958, and they were together for 23 years until he died in 1981.
She is survived by her seven children and their families, Elba Aviles-Jimenez, Victor Aviles Jr., Yolanda Vazquez, Lisa Aviles, Blanca Aviles-Soler, Robert Aviles and Jessie Aviles-Rodriguez; their spouses; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandsons; and seven siblings.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 6-9 p.m. at Leach & Thomas, Inc., 32 State St., Ossining. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, with burial following at Dale Cemetery.
