Edith M. O’Brien, 94, Of Ossining, Retired IBM Employee

OSSINING, N.Y. - Edith M. O'Brien of Ossining, formerly of the Bronx, died Aug. 24. She was 94.

O’Brien was born June 29, 1919, in the Bronx, to Bertrand J. and Edith Boden Masterson. She lived in Ossining for the past 35 years and was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor. She retired from IBM in 1986 after 24 years of service.

O’Brien is survived by her daughters, Jean (Jeff) Glaser of Rockville Center, Patricia O'Brien of Riverdale, Marie (Richie) MacVeigh of Rockaway Beach and Barbara (Larry) Reilly of Briarcliff Manor; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband James J. O'Brien; and brother, Walter Masterson.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
