The New York State Senate passed a resolution honoring the athletes for their victorious season. The team, along with coach Dan Ricci, made the trip to Albany to receive the resolution.

The Ossining Pride Girls Basketball Team, for the second year in a row, captured the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class AA State Championship. The Pride defeated their opponent, Cicero-North Syracuse 74-59, to win the title at the Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y. in March.

"The team's overall record, 25-3, is outstanding and could not have been achieved without the support of family, friends, fans, the community at large and especially Coach Dan Ricci," representatives said.

"Athletically and academically, this team has proven themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents that reflects positively on their school, our community and our great State," Carlucci said. "Congratulations again and I hope to see Coach Ricci in the Senate Chamber again next year when the Ossining Pride takes the NYSPHSAA Title for the third year in a row in 2015."

Ricci thanked Carlucci on behalf of the team.

"I want to thank Senator Carlucci for taking the time to make sure this amazing group of students received the honor they deserve. I look forward to continuing to work with our dedicated staff to guide and inspire our students toward their athletic and academic goals," Ricci said.
