The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 53-year-old Clarence Sharrock, who has moved from the Bronx to a residence on Furnace Dock Road in Croton-on-Hudson.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Sharrock as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Sharrock had sexual intercourse with his 10-year-old victim in South Carolina in June 1998. He was convicted of a felony sexual abuse charge in April the following year and sentenced to a term of 10 years in prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
