A registered sex offender convicted of attempting to sodomize a 12-year-old girl has reported a move in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 59-year-old Karim Elabdouni, who has moved to an apartment on Main Street in Ossining.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Elabdouni as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Elabdouni had deviate sexual intercourse with his victim in July 1992. He was arrested by police in Bedford and convicted of attempted sodomy the following year. Elabdouni was sentenced to a term of between 18 and 54 months in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Westchester County Department of Safety.
