Hundreds in Westchester are without power as the region grins and bears it through the fourth day of the heat wave impacting the area.
As of 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Con Edison was responding to eight reported outages, impacting 437 customers. Greenburgh was hit the hardest, with 382 customers reporting outages, while Irvington (16 outages), Mamaroneck (15), North Castle (11), White Plains (two), Rye (one) and New Castle (one), each reporting outages.
All power is expected to be restored no later than 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
In an email blast, Greenburgh Town Supervisor confirmed the outages in sections of Fairview, including the Theodore Young Community Center. He said that Con Edison crews are en route to restore power and noted that Town Hall is air-conditioned, for anyone who needs to cool down while repairs are made.
Heat warnings and advisories remain in the area, and will be in effect through 9 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, as the heat index is expected to hover around 100 degrees.
