Joining Carlucci to welcome attendees to the Senior Fair was U.S Rep. Nita Lowey and representatives from Phelps Memorial Hospital Center. The event allowed seniors the opportunity to discover services and programs available to them in Westchester County and speak with representatives from various health, legal and housing services.
Guest speakers from a wide variety of professions presented on topics that are relevant to seniors, such as Medicaid and Medicare, long-term care options, memoir writing and recreational yoga.
“Knowledge is power, and by keeping our seniors informed we are giving them the tools they need to lead healthy, comfortable and active lives,” said Senator Carlucci. “Today’s senior fair gave them the opportunity to do just that.”
“Today was a wonderful opportunity for seniors in our area to learn more about the services and resources we have here for healthcare, continuing education, activities, long term care and assisted living options, and even to get a free flu shot through Phelps Hospital Center,” said Galef. “I thank Senator Carlucci and his team for organizing such a rich and mind-expanding event today in Ossining, and to the vendors, and all those who came out to enjoy it.”
