Ossining Public Library Offers Adult Programs In May

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Public Library is offering many programs for adults throughout the month of May.

Here are some of the programs:

  • The Ossining School District will have its annual art exhibit May 1 through 30 with an opening reception on May 7 at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. 
  • Manhattan Jazz will be featured on May 3 at 2 p.m. for the Sunday Afternoon Concert Series. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event in the Budarz Theater.
  • The Friends of the Ossining Public Library will be holding a children's book sale on May 7 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. The sale is one-day only in the Budarz Theater.
  • Author Jamie Malanowski will be discussing his book "Commander Will Cushing; Daredevil Hero of the Civil War" on May 13 at 7 p.m. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. The event is free in the Budarz Theater.
  • Phelps Memorial Hospital will be at the library on May 14 at 10 a.m. for its annual blood drive in the Budarz Theater. Registration is required and can be done by calling (914) 941-2416 ext. 327.
  • The AARP Smart Driver Course, for participants 55 and older, will be on May 21 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You must attend the entire one-day class to receive credit. Registration is required and must be done by May 14. Forms can be found at the service desk in the library or on the website.
