Bodies In The Library Book Group Tops Ossining Library Events In January

OSSINING, N.Y. – A book club, art exhibit and a food workshop are among events scheduled in January at the Ossining Library.

The library's free Bodies in the Library Book Group will meet on Friday, Jan. 8 at noon to discuss Scotsman Ian Rankin's “Standing in Another Man’s Grave.” Author Catherine Wald will moderate, and copies of the book will be available.

The 'Myths and Fantasies' art exhibit of artist Donna Faranda's work, will run from Jan. 2-30, with an opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Susan Chasen will lead a free gluten food workshop on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 11:30 a.m., with a snow date planned for Jan. 16.

The Dixieland Express Jazz Band will hold a free concert on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m., with a snow date of Jan. 24.

Westchester County's Ecuadorean Consulate will be available on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 9 a.m. to help locals with visas, passport info and other questions. The snow date for this free bilingual event is Jan. 30.

The library's monthly Board of Trustees meeting is on Monday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

Lastly, the free annual Friends of the Ossining Library meeting will close out the month on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m.

The library is at 53 Croton Ave. in Ossining.
