Snow Closes Schools, Causes Accidents In Northern Westchester

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Tuesday's snowfall has closed schools and caused accidents throughout Northern Westchester.

With the exception of Croton-Harmon, which had an early dismissal, Yorktown, Chappaqua, Bedford, Katonah-Lewisboro, Mount Pleasant, Pleasantville, Hendrick Hudson, Byram Hils, Peekskill and Ossining all closed today.

Two accidents at or around the Taconic State Parkway were reported. One occurred on 9A North in Mount Pleasant, entering the Taconic. The other, on the northbound Taconic in New Castle near the area of routes 100 and 133.

An accident has also been reported on I-684 southbound in North Castle between Exit 3.

A winter weather advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, has been extended to 7 p.m. from 4 p.m.
