The Westchester Board of Legislators has elected a new chairman after his predecessor resigned following a scandal involving a former county staffer trying to meet with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl. The Chair of the Westchester County Board of Legislators is responding to calls for her resignation after a county staffer was fired for attempting to meet up with a 14-year-old girl. The Dominican Sisters of Hope announced the preservation of 34 acres -- more than half the riverfront property known as Mariandale. Mariandale is owned by the Dominican Sisters of Hope and is situated along a stretch of the Hudson River. The property is adjacent to the Village of Ossining’s 30-acre Crawbuckie Nature Preserve.
