The Vikings topped Mercyhurst by scores of 6-3 and 9-2 to win the East Region and grab a spot in the national tournament to be held in Enid, Okla., starting Saturday, May 24.

Fox Lane graduate Anthony Shkrelja came within two outs of a complete game in the first contest against Mercyhurst to secure the win. Valhalla's Justin Cassinelli led the offensive onslaught in the clinching game, going 5-for-5 with five RBIs.

WCC's only other NJCAA College World Series appearance came at the Division III level in 1992.

The Vikings are currently ranked 16th in the nation in Division II NJCAA and will face off against nine other teams from around the country in a double-elimination tournament.
