The races are expected to draw as many as 1,000 athletes, 1,500 volunteers and thousands more spectators.

The triathlon course for adult competitors on Sunday, Sept. 8, includes a 1.2 mile fresh water swim in a protected cove of the Hudson River, a scenic 56 mile bike ride that takes place on Route 9/9a South and a 13.1 mile run through historic Van Cortlandt Manor, along the Croton Aqueduct, across the Croton Dam, with the finish line at Croton Point Park.

The ToughKids Championship triathlon on Saturday morning, Sept. 7, includes various lengths of swimming, biking and running for three age groups: 4-6 year olds, 7-10 year olds and 11-14 year olds. After the winners’ ceremonies at 1 pm, a health expo will open at the park, offering a wide array of healthy living information and healthy foods to enjoy.

Since its inception, the event has raised more than $700,000 for 56 charities through the fundraising efforts of volunteers and racers.

Spectators are welcome to cheer on the racers at Croton Point Park and along the Toughman course through the Historic Hudson River Towns.
