Ossining's Kurt Kannemeyer Will Try To Scale Mount Kilimanjaro

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining resident Kurt Kannemeyer will attempt to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, but he isn't doing it for personal satisfaction, he's doing it in the hopes of raising money for at-risk children with special needs, according to LoHud.com.

Kannemeyer nearly made it to the summit once before, but had to turn back after experiencing altitude sickness. This time, he hopes to reach the summit, and raise $30,000 in the process, LoHud.com reported.
