Malone, a junior at the Rhode Island school, is one of the top players in the Big East conference, according to a profile on Friars.com.

Malone, a center midfielder, led the Friars in scoring this season with 27 points on nine goals and nine assists. She was named All-Big East Second Team and NFHCA All-Northeast Region Second Team. She was awarded the school's Mountain Climber Award.

"I always knew that I wanted to play Division I field hockey, and as a walk-on, putting in hard work everyday was how I earned my spot on the roster," Malone told the site.
