Ossining Football aiming for 2-0 start

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Ossining travels to Pelham, Saturday, looking to match its win total -- two -- from 2010. Ossining defeated John Jay-Cross River in week one, rallying from a 21-6 halftime deficit. The team scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to overtake John Jay. Ossining's defense had a big second half, holding the Indians scoreless. Ossining was led by junior running back Stephen Candelaria, who had 13 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown (a 65-yard dash). He also completed a pass for 48 yards and caught two passes for 48 yards, including a 26-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter. Pelham was nipped by Sleepy Hollow, 21-20, in its season-opener.
