Ossining Baseball Knocks Off Pleasantville Again

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Ossining High School’s baseball team squashed Pleasantville’s chance at revenge with four early runs and held off the Panthers for a 4-2 win on Friday. The Pride also defeated the Panthers, 6-4, on Tuesday.

The first three Ossining runs came on errors. Matt Belitz scored the first run for the Pride when he reached home plate on an error in the first inning. Zack Giusti and Aaron Freed each scored on errors in the second inning.

Greg Lamb scored the fourth and final run for Ossining when Jason Tierney grounded into a fielder’s choice.

Pleasantville scratched across two runs in the bottom of the fourth but never completed the rally.

Both pitchers threw complete games. Ossining’s Mike Haag gave up two earned runs on seven hits and struck out eight, while Pleasantville’s Chris Leonard gave up four runs (one earned) on five hits and struck out seven.
