Davidov Lifts Ossining Football Over Gorton

YONKERS, N.Y. - Ossining football coach Dan Ricci was looking for a win after two tough losses to open the season and his Pride players gave him a resounding victory Saturday in a 37-8 victory over at Gorton High School.

Pride quarterback Justin Davidov led the way, completing 9 of 12 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for two more scores in the rout. Davidov has thrown seven touchdown passes in the first three games of the season.

"This was a win the team needed," Ricci said. "Justin played extremely well. He was involved on all five touchdowns, throwing for three and running for two. All three of his touchdown passes were to different receivers."

Ossining (2-0) opened the season with a loss to Nyack and lost a tough overtime game to Yorktown 35-43 on a missed extra point last Saturday. The Pride had the game well in hand early, taking a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter.

"Our defense played much more physical today," Ricci said. "We need to build off this win and come to play next week against Pelham."

Ossining can a second straight win next Saturday with a visit to winless Pelham at Glover Field 1:30 p.m.
