OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining High School students will have the opportunity to travel to Albany to cheer on the Ossining girls basketball team as they play for the chance to be crowned winner of the New York State Federation Tournament of Champions.
A bus to the game in Albany will be offered to students and will leave Ossining High School on Saturday, March 23 at 3 p.m. The bus will cost $10 and admission to the game is an additional $12. Permission slips to be signed can be picked up by students in the high school library and returned with payment. The bus is for students only.
The trip requires 40 students to attend in order to provide the bus. If this number is not reached, the trip will be cancelled and money will be refunded.
Ossining will take on the winner of Murry Bergtraum and Bishop Ford in the Class AA Federation Championship. Last weekend, Ossining captured its first state championship by defeating Gates-Chili 86-69 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. UConn-bound guard Soniya Chong scored a game-high 34 points to lead the way.
Ossining's game on Saturday is scheduled for a 6:45 p.m. start at the Albany Times-Union Center.
