Career Day Committee members Debbie Carol, Joanne Riolo and Theresa Tralli coordinated the event that brought the current and future professionals together for the career seminars. Each professional shared his or her work in three sessions with groups of children ages 8-12.
Carol said the Career Day was the first in the school's recent history and was organized so that the students might experience a variety of possible career choices.
"We want to children to be informed on how education led (the professionals) to their careers," Carol said. "We had a wonderful response to the speakers, who gave their time to be here."
The children moved from classroom to classroom to hear about careers in law enforcement, media, real estate, business and pet medicine.
Acting Schools Superintendent Michael Yazurlo told students that it was up to each one of them to work hard and to be prepared for their chosen careers.
"When you are reading for one hour, there is someone reading for two hours to better themselves," Yazurlo said. "Getting a good education beginning now and going through college will prepare you for the world. You can be the best by working hard."
