Visiting Author Teaches Briarcliff Students About Persistence

McCarthy encouraged a group of second- and third-grade students to persist in their dreams, according to a press release from the Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District.

She shared a story from childhood about when she tripped and fell into a mud puddle during a race. McCarthy’s pants also fell down, but she pulled them up, kept running, and won the race.

McCarthy also discussed writing and showed students how to draw an alien with tentacles.
