Two Ossining Drama Students Competing For Musical Theater Awards

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Two Ossining High School students will compete later this month for the Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance.

Miguel Angel Garcia and Daniela Rodrigues recently played the leading roles of Usnavi and Nina, respectively, in the school's recent production of "In the Heights."

Both Garcia and Rodrigues will compete with actors from 26 other high schools in a daylong event in Manhattan on Sunday, May 22. 

The event will culminate in an ensemble production and a showcase of students' solo performances from their respective high school musical productions. 

An expert panel will select the best actor and best actress to represent the New York metropolitan area at the 8th annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards on Sunday, June 26.
