Ossining Workshop Focuses On Developing Academic Language

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Family Welcome Center is hosting a parent workshop Wednesday on building academic language in young children.

The workshop will focus on the role of the specific language that teachers use in the classroom, or academic language. The discussion will also include techniques and activities to promote the acquisition of academic language at home.

There will be a morning session from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and an afternoon session from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served .
