Ossining Voters Approve School Budget, Proposition

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Voters in the Ossining School District approved the 2014-2015 budget, 1,308 votes to 515 votes.

The $114.5 million budget increased spending 3.72 percent and had a tax levy increase of 2.38 percent, within the state mandated tax levy.

Ossining residents will see a 2.13 percent tax increase, New Castle residents will see a .9 percent tax increase, Yorktown residents will see taxes increase 1.13 percent.

Graig Galef, Frank Schnecker and Steve Wardwell ran unopposed for school board.

Voters approved a proposition to reduce transportation mileage limits for Claremont School from one mile to half a mile for fourth grade students, 1,302 votes to 458 votes.
