Ossining To Receive Additional State Aid In Budget

The aid is an increase of $1,295,973 over what Ossining received last year, said State Assembly member Sandy Galef.

“We all advocated very hard for more school aid and I am excited that our goal was accomplished in this budget,” Galef said in a statement. “As the months and weeks progressed, I believe that I had more meetings and conversations with education aid advocates than anyone else. The education of our children is key to our future as a state and nation. Providing the necessary educational tools through this increased state aid will assist in bringing individual success to our youth.”

The 2013-14 New York State Budget will be finalized when the Assembly votes on Wednesday. The budget provides for $21.2 billion for schools statewide, which is an increase of $936.6 million over the 2012-13 state budget and $436 million over the Governor’s proposed executive budget.
