Journalists Will Discuss US Security At WCC In Valhalla

VALHALLA, N.Y. – An ambassador along with two renowned journalists will discuss American security issues at the annual Westchester Community College President’s Forum in November.

The event, Global Chaos – Challenging American Security, will be held from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23.

The speakers at the event, to be held in the Academic Arts Building Theater, are as follows:

Richard Murphy: a former ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Syria and the Philippines. He has thrice garnered the Superior Honor Award from the U.S. Department of State.

Trudy Rubin: the foreign affairs columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer and Pulitzer Prize finalist. She frequently travels to the Middle East and South Asia.

Margaret Warner: the chief foreign correspondent for the "PBS NewsHour." She has worked throughout the Middle East, South Asia, Africa and Europe over the past two years. Warner won an Emmy Award for covering turmoil in Pakistan.

Lester Crystal, WCC Foundation board member and executive producer of the PBS NewsHour, will moderate the forum.

Proceeds from Global Chaos – Challenging American Security will benefit student scholarships along with general college development.
