Students participated in a number of hands-on activities that explored different types of energy, ranging from solar, wind and chemical to sound, heat and more. Students demonstrated their knowledge of the different types of energy by explaining how each works and how they are used in the real world.

“Wind turbines collect energy that is turned into electrical energy,” second-grader Charlie explained as he showed off his hand-made windmill. “It’s cool because it collects energy that can be used.”

Students also enjoyed playing with magnets as part of the PTA-sponsored Magnet Makers program.
