During the drive on Feb. 13, more than 50 people donated blood.
Volunteers from the NHS provided aid and ensured that donors were recovered before leaving the gym.
“We have had parents, teachers and mostly students come in and donate,” said NHS Co-President Brian Ziltner.
The New York Blood Center has said that there is an emergency need for donations since the winter has been unduly harsh in the area.
Ziltner praised the donors and their willingness to give back.
“They want to help other people,” he said. “During an NHS meeting, we watched a film about how a blood donation saved a leukemia patient’s life. It really can be lifesaving.”
