The PTA-sponsored series of events was Friday, May 1 at the Briarcliff Manor school’s campus, according to a press release.
Parents, teachers and community members offered a variety of workshops throughout the day.
Options included hip-hop dancing, martial arts, nutrition, pottery, pressure-point massage, stress relief, yoga and Zumba.
“The kids are having fun while learning in a different way,” Susan Howard, school principal, said in a press release. “We always want students to learn something they will use in their lives forever or maybe learn new hobbies they will continue throughout their lives.”
Wellness Day also included plenty of healthy food options, mini-massages for teachers and a faculty-student basketball game.
“It’s nice to take a break from schoolwork and do things you wouldn’t normally think about,” Josh Lewis, a seventh-grader, said in a press release.
