“I am honored to be recognized for my work both in basketball and academically over the past four years,” said Blair, who helped his school win a league title this season.
Away from the court, Blair is a community service veteran, having volunteered with Ossining’s Food Pantry. He is also a member of Briarcliff High's National Honor Society and American Red Cross Club.
He believes that extracurricular activity is an important part of being a high school student.
“Try to find time for everything – it’s all about managing time,” Blair says.
“This is an incredible honor for Jeff,” added Briarcliff High School Principal Debora French.
Briarcliff's basketball season ended with honor, making it to the Westchester County Center as part of their playoff run, knocking out Irvington along the way and avenging last year's playoff loss.
“It was a really great season,” Blair adds. “I wish it could have kept going, but being able to play at the County Center was really a dream, it felt like we were playing in the NBA.”
He plans to attend Duke University in the fall, with an eye towards either a pre-med or economics degree.
