Up To 6 Inches Of Snow Blankets Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — The city of Stamford is reporting that 3 to 6 inches of snow had accumulated as of 6 a.m. Friday, according to a message from Thaddeus Jankowski, director of public safety, health and welfare.

The city has 40 public works vehicles working to clear the streets and spread snow-melting material, the message said. 

Minor coastal flooding is expected with temperatures near 30 degrees and wind gusts reaching 40 mph, the message said. The snow is expected to taper off later in the day as temperatures climb into the mid-30s, the message said.
