New Rochelle Shoppers Urged To Stay Alert After Costco Armed Robbery

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Shoppers in New Rochelle were reminded of one of the darker sides of the holiday season when three people were held up at gun point in the parking lot of Costco recently, according to CBS New York.

Authorities are reminding shoppers to stay alert and shop safely after an armed robbery outside of Costco in New Rochelle.

Police are reminding residents that criminals are out in force and scouting for shoppers with big ticket items, like the piece of jewelry the victims lost outside of Costco, CBS New York said.

Safety tips include keeping a constant eye on your personal belongings such as purses and wallets as well as making larger, more expensive purchases appear to be more inconspicuous, according to CBS New York.
