OSSINING, N.Y. – Ossining and Briarcliff Manor residents voting in Tuesday’s Primary Elections will see races for the positions of Town Board member, highway superintendent and town justice.

With two seats available for election on the Ossining town board, Kim Jeffrey, Glenn Oldoff Jr. and incumbent Northern Wilcher Jr. are running against each other on the Democratic ballot.

Incumbent Michael O’Connor will run for highway superintendent on the Conservative and Independence tickets. Jerry Lent will be running against O'Connor for highway superintendent. Voters can opt to vote for a write-in highway superintendent candidate.

Town Justice Nancy Quinn Koba will run on the Independence ticket to seek re-election.  Her opponent, John Mangialardi was killed by an alleged drunk driver on Tuesday, Sept. 3 while apparently crossing Route 9A in Ossining to hang up election signs.  Mangialardi's name likely will still appear on the Independence ballot on Tuesday.

Additionally, County Legislator Catherine Borgia is running on the Independence ticket to keep her District 9 seat on the Westchester Board of Legislators.  Voters have the option of writing in a candidate for the District 9 seat, which represents Briarcliff Manor, Cortlandt, Croton, Ossining and Peekskill.

The primary election will be held Sept. 10.

Polls for the primary election open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.  Check the Westchester Board of Elections website for information about polling locations.

This year’s general election will be held Nov. 5.
