Catherine Borgia and her Indivisible supporters are at it again, completely fabricating quotes and stories to malign my character and to distract voters from the choice that they have to make on Election Day.

Let me say this clearly: At no point, to the best of my knowledge, did I respond to an officer-involved car accident involving Ms. Shapiro, as she describes in her letter to the editor. Her intentions, and the intentions of Catherine Borgia, are obvious: she waited until the last weekend before the Election to make her accusations knowing full well that there is no time for the police department to release records showing her account to be false.

Her description of events, as any police officer will tell you, are not credible. While police departments in bad Hollywood movies might cover up an incident like that, actual police departments fully investigate officer-involved incidents by dispatching their own supervisor to the scene, and conducting their own investigation that would include photographs and an internal report. They also take complaints of harassment, intimidation, and falsify records very seriously.

On Election Day, the voters of Cortlandt, Croton, Ossining, Briarcliff Manor and Peekskill can either re-elect the hyper-partisan Catherine Borgia, who has voted repeatedly against keeping our property taxes flat, or they can elect a candidate who will put people over politics.

I will work to mitigate the negative effects of the Indian Point closure. Reduce, or hold flat the county property tax levy. Combat the heroin/opioid crisis that is a scourge in our community. Grow our local economy to create jobs. Support our police and first responders with the tools and resources they need to protect us. Most importantly, I will join the bipartisan coalition and work across party lines.
