Clinton, who moved to Chappaqua in 1999 - about a year before her election to the U.S. Senate - is the Democratic Party's candidate for next month's presidential election. She is the first woman to earn a major party's nomination for the office.

Clinton, who turns 69 on Wednesday, served as First Lady of the United States to her husband, former Pres. Bill Clinton, from 1993-2001.

With her election to the Senate in 2000, Clinton became the first former First Lady to seek elected office and the first woman to represent New York state in the U.S. Senate.

After serving in the Senate from 2001-2009, she became the 67th U.S. Secretary of State under President Barack Obama, a post she held until 2013.

A Chicago native, Hillary Clinton has good reason to have a truly happy birthday.

The Chicago Cubs (which she supports when not rooting for the New York Yankees) are in the World Series. She also leads her Republican presidential challenger, Donald Trump, in most national polls, according to multiple media reports.

If elected next month, Clinton will become the first woman to hold the office of the presidency.

At 69, she will also be the second oldest person to take the Oath of Office, trailing only Ronald Reagan, who was nearly 70 when he stepped into the White House in 1981.
