Candidate Killed In Accident Wins Ossining Town Justice Primary

OSSINING, N.Y. - John Mangialardi, the Ossining town justice candidate killed earlier this month, won the Independance Party primary, according to unofficial board of election results Wednesday night.

Mangliardi received 47 votes - 54 percent. His challenger, Nancy Quinn Koba, received 40 votes - 46 percent.

?Mangialardi was killed by an alleged drunken driver Sept. 3 while apparently crossing Route 9A in Ossining to put up election signs.

In other Ossining town races, incumbent Michael O’Connor ran for highway superintendent on the Conservative and Independence tickets. He garnered five votes - 100 percent.

Republican candidate Jerry Lent will run against O'Connor for highway superintendent in the Nov. 5 general election.

Additionally, County Legislator Catherine Borgia is running on the Independence ticket to keep her District 9 seat on the Westchester Board of Legislators. Borgia received 97 votes - 100 percent - with 100 percent of the vote counted.
