OSSINING, N.Y. – Assemblywoman Sandy Galef speaks about the importance of taking action to gain equality and protection for women in the workforce in her cable news show, “Speak Out with Sandy Galef."
Joining her on the show are Beverly Cooper Neufeld, director of the Equal Pay Coalition of NYC and NYS PowHer, and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin.
Neufeld reminds viewers that a white woman makes 77 cents for every dollar a man makes, and for women of color, it is even lower. Neufeld believes that the passing of bills like the Women's Equality Act, specifically the section dealing with pay equity for women, will benefit everyone.
Paulin describes the importance of passing the Human Trafficking Bill, which was introduced in 2011, and notes that there are many young women from Westchester County and New York City who are victims of human trafficking.
