Woman Charged With Stealing From Taconic Pharmacy

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 38-year-old resident of Mahopac on a larceny charge.

An officer responded to a report of a past larceny at the Taconic Pharmacy at Lee Road on Thursday, April 21, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police report.

An investigation at the scene revealed that the suspect, identified as Dawn M. Variara, allegedly stole merchandise valued at $12.59 from the store, according to officials.

Yorktown police made contact with Variara on Saturday, May 7; she later turned herself over to an officer at Police Headquarters and was arrested, officials report.

Variara has been charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, according to police.

She was processed, then released on her own recognizance, police report.

The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, June 9, according to officials.
