New York State Police troopers stopped 20-year-old Brooklyn resident Nicole Mishiyev in Stanford in Dutchess County on Thursday, Oct. 12 after she was spotted driving 103 mph northbound on the parkway.
Police said that while attempting to conduct a vehicle and traffic stop, Mishiyev continued passing uninvolved vehicles “at reckless speeds,” reaching a maximum speed of 121 mph in a 55 mph zone. Once stopped, troopers discovered that Mishiyev was in possession of marijuana and 31 individually packed 500-milliliter canisters of concentrated marijuana.
Mishiyev was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. She was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and multiple vehicle and traffic violations. Mishiyev was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in the Town of Stanford Justice Court later this month to answer the charges.
