David Gipson, 42, was wanted for a break-in at a business in Pleasant Valley when arrested by deputies on the train, said Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Detective Adam Harris.

Gipson is also implicated in a recent series of burglaries committed in Dutchess and Westchester counties, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's office.

"We had information that he used the train, and that's where we found him," Harris said.

A convicted felon, Gipson, was on parole and not allowed to leave the area. Following his arrest, detectives were able to link him to more than a dozen commercial burglaries in Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, Harris said.

Gipson was charged with burglary and is being held at the Dutchess County Jail, Harris said.

The investigation into the burglaries was handled jointly with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Village of Ossining Police, City of Beacon Police, Town of Poughkeepsie Police and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police.

In Cold Spring, he has been tied to six burglaries and two attempted burglaries on June 7 and four more on July 18 and 19, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone with information about Gipson, is asked to contact Harris at 845-486-3852 or through the confidential tip line at 845-605-2583.
