Somers Massage Business Employees Charged With Prostitution

SOMERS, N.Y. – Two employees from a massage business in Somers have been arrested, according to state police.

Xiaomeizheng, 44, of Flushing, N.Y. was charged with unauthorized practice of a profession and promoting prostitution.

The Ya Ya’s Nail & Spa employees identified as Xiaomeizheng, 44, and Qiumei Zhang, 44, both of Flushing, N.Y. were arrested on Nov. 24, 2014 and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, an E-Felony, state police said.

Zhang was additionally charged with promoting prostitution in the fourth degree as a result of sexual contact she had engaged in with a customer just prior to a compliance check that led to the arrests, according to police.  

The compliance check was conducted by the New York State Police and the Somers Police Department, with assistance from the New York State Department of Education Licensing Division.

Both subjects were processed and released on appearance tickets directing them to appear in the Town of Somers Court on Dec. 1, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.
