The county currently patrols the streets in the Town of Ossining for a total cost of $10.3 million over four years. The village proposal came in at $7.5 million for a four-year contract, LoHud.com reported.
Ossining is just one of many municipalities throughout the county looking to cut costs by merging policing duties. Mount Kisco currently has a proposal in place to turn policing responsibilities over to the county, LoHud.com said.
