Shortly after midnight on Saturday, April 29, members of the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to the Northern Westchester Hospital, where there were reports of a man who had suffered a laceration to his head following an incident.

According to police, the investigation determined that Ossining resident Cristian Zhuzhingo and 20-year-old Jasmin Arpi allegedly went to a Yorktown residence earlier that night, where Zhuzhingo reportedly struck his victim in the head and body with a metal rod, “causing pain and injury.” A second victim was pushed to the ground, suffering an injury to their elbow, police reported.

Police said that both Zhuzhingo and Arpi then fled the scene. Both were arrested in Ossining by Yorktown police, with an assist from members of the Ossining Police Department.

Zhuzhingo was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and third-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors. Arpi was charged with second-degree assault. Both were arraigned in Yorktown Town Court and have been released on bail - $2,500 for Zhuzhingo, $1,500 for Arpi. Each are due back in court on Thursday, May 4.
