OSSINING, N.Y. -- An Ossining man who threatened a Yorktown woman via text message, found himself charged with aggravated harassment, according to the Yorktown police.
Yorktown police received a call for help from the woman on Baldwin Road who had received a threatening text message from James Abel, 30, causing her to fear for her safety, police said.
Following an investigation, Yorktown officers contacted Abel by phone and he voluntary surrendered at police headquarters on Sunday, Oct. 2, police said.
A temporary order of protection was issued to the woman. Abel was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20.
